Counter-Strike news, after dark

Dust After Dark is a small, automated news channel. Two hosts, one of the anchors Rex or Priya plus a partner from the desk, talk through the latest Counter-Strike 2 news in short episodes: game updates and patch notes, esports results and roster moves, and what the community is talking about. The live channel plays them around the clock.

How it's made

Every episode is built from Valve's own update notes and announcements, news from HLTV and Dust2.us, and popular community posts on r/GlobalOffensive, and every episode page links the articles and posts it covers. Those articles are the source of truth; a Reddit post is a lead, not a source of record, and the episode treats it as one. A person reviews and approves each episode before it airs.

Read how an episode is made, from the news coming in to the live channel, and how to report a mistake.

The live channel

The live channel plays published episodes on one shared schedule, so everyone watching sees the same thing at the same moment. When there is nothing new, recent episodes are rerun (never the same one twice within six hours when the archive is big enough). The watching count is the real number of open live players, nothing more. There is no chat, no ads and no analytics scripts.

The hosts

Rex "Relay" Harlan

Play-by-play · Host

A big broadcast voice who has called a hundred grand finals in his head. He lives for a good storyline, the underdog run or the comeback, and hands the numbers to whoever has them.

Priya "Calc" Anand

Stats analyst

Brings the ratings, rankings and patch values from the sources and loves the one stat that changes the whole story. Corrects the hype politely, and never invents a number.

The desk

Every episode pairs an anchor with a second voice, picked per story: the other anchor or one of three players on the desk.

Bram "Bunker" de Vries

Veteran IGL

A calm Dutch in-game leader who has played every version of Counter-Strike and explains the why: economy, utility and map control. The occasional LAN story, used sparingly.

Kaz "Scope" Nakamura

AWPer · Clutch merchant

Believes every round can be won with one good pick and judges everything by the highlight reel. Respects a great play from anyone, and admits it loudly when he is wrong.

Jo "Rush" Rivera

Entry fragger

First through the door on every hot take. Speaks for the everyday player: Premier grinders, skin collectors, the Reddit threads, and whether a change is actually fun.
